During the construction of the Cairo Financial Center a nearby rock cut is subjected to detailed stability analysis. The rock cut contains a lot of joints, and consists of limestone sensitive to slaking. Stability of the current rock cut is investigated assuming wetted joint properties, and potential improvement to stability with rockbolt reinforments is explored.
