Analysis and Design of Offshore Wind Turbine Foundation using PLAXIS Solutions: 3D FE Modelling, Python Scripting, p-y Curves and MoDeTo

This two-day workshop is tailored towards practitioners in the industry to provide a good understanding on the use of Plaxis solutions for the analysis and design of Offshore Wind Turbine Foundation. The course content has been elaborated considering the latest development at Plaxis in the field of Offshore Applications and will particularly emphasis on:

  • Monopile analysis
  • Automation of pre and post-processing operations (model generation and results post-processing) through Python Scripting
  • Generation of P-y curves from PLAXIS 3D calculations
  • Bearing capacity of off-shore foundations
  • Introduction to MoDeTo a specific tool introducing an enhanced design method for monopile foundations (based on PISA Joint Industry Research Project)



The workshop consists of two days and will be held in English by Senior Plaxis and Ramboll Engineers exclusively.

Course attendees are expected to bring their own laptop with the appropriate version of PLAXIS installed on it (PLAXIS 3D 2018.00). This software version will be sent to all participants once they will have registered. A temporary hardware key will also be provided to all course participants for the entire event duration such that they can properly run the proposed hands-on exercises.
