This online training will demonstrate the use of PLAXIS 3D for the analysis of a tied back excavation with dewatering. The event should be considered as an introduction training and it is meant for geotechnical engineers with no experience or very limited one with PLAXIS 3D.

The attention will be given to:

  • Explaining in details the PLAXIS 3D modelling workflow
  • Definition of construction stages
  • Providing slight focus on structural elements as well as groundwater modelling
  • Main output functionalities and efficient result post-processing

This online training will first consist of a 45 minute presentation introducing PLAXIS 3D main modelling features. The presentation will then be followed by a 1h00 in-depth live demonstration highlighting the modelling workflow on a simple excavation problem. Finally, a 15 minute question-answer session will be held.


After the Online Training session has been given, the training materials (pdf files of the powerpoint presentation, all elaborated PLAXIS model files using the latest commercial release only) will be distributed along with a link to the recorded video (valid for three months) and a summary of the Questions/Answers session.
